Skied a north facing slope in the burn up Meachen. Less snow than expected, 50-90cm below 2000m, 100-130cm at our high point of 2170m. At 2000m there is 25-30cm over the early December crust/hoarfrost and mostly facets below that. Evidence of small slabs and sluffs running from steep terrain and unsupported rolls. Some snowballs and pinwheels on the snow surface near valley bottom as well as a 4cm crust near the surface which thinned out quickly above 1600m.
The ski quality was good despite a thin snowpack but speed and enthusiasm were kept in check due to numerous subsurface hazards being present.
