Tryst lake/super slope

Pelhammer, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:32PM

Just one lap up to have a look at tryst lake area (chutes looked mostly skied out) and then rode the skiers left path on super slope, any further right looked significantly wind affected. From jumping on a small isolated convex test slope I was able to produce a failure at the interface of new snow in a loose dry fashion, there was no slab properties in the upper pack, and given that my test slope was steeper and more convex than the slope we were looking to ski it was not spooky enough to deter us. No recent slab avalanches observed, however there were evidence of a couple loose dry avalanches off of the lower cliffs on tent ridge up to sz 1 around 2200 on SE aspect, looked to be entraining the top 8cms or so of recent snow on steep terrain.
