Wind Sculpted Blunt
Northwest Inland
AvCan Northwest , Tuesday 4th February, 2025 4:15PM
The Blunt was heavily wind effected from northeast outflow winds. They have spared very little soft snow. Winds were still moderate to strong while we were out, but temperatures had increased to around -15C. While walking near ridge crest, we caused whumpfs and shooting cracks in the new, hard wind slab. These are red flags indicating to us that the new snow needs time to bond to the old snow surface.
