Hiked in to the base of sinatra falls, the over head we observed from the highway appear thin with out significant cornices, this gave us confidence any solar release was unlikely to have enough volume to propogate, however there was very little ice on the climb and bby 10am there was a significant amount of water running down any exposed ice. Ice texture was soft and yielding. We observed alot of snow transport at ridge top with the winds, small cornices will be growing quickly. We caught a view of wedge smear across the valley and it appeared to have little or no ice yet. We found this all surprising given how fat kid falls appears. about 6cm of snow observed at valley bottom, no base. Temperature when we left the vehicle was -2C (8.30am) and +2C when we returned at 11am. measured ~0C at the base of the climb at 9.45am.
