Grizzly Trees / Rogers Run
Beyond Our Peak,

Blower powder on the Grizzly Shoulder (and Rogers Run). Spicy day. Warm temps were the name of the game for the day with -3.2C in the shade @ 1750m - much warmer in the sun. The snow on solar aspects was moist and heavy. Noticed a sun crust forming on S aspects by early afternoon. Observed whumpfing several times above 2000m on an open SW aspect. Got a whumpf and a clean 20m shooting crack through the 40cm of HST on a 37deg slope (SW) at 2050m on our way to Rogers Run. Turned back and skied down Grizzly Trees. Partner released a SZ1 on an unsupported roll (8m wide, 30cm dp). Went for a second lap in Rogers Run, cutting below the cliffband. Got a few whumpf there too in inconsequential terrain thankfully. Evidence of slab avalanche up to Sz2 and dry loose in the slopes of Grizzly Bowl and Cheops North. Overall, pretty spicy conditions.
