Very good skiing in protected areas at the Gorge today! There was 10-15 cms of storm snow from yesterday and another 8-10 cms fell during the day today. Surprising lack of wind effect at tree line. On steep solar aspects there was a sun crust down 30-40 cms that you could feel from time to time. The new snow from today was running loose dry up to size 1.5, running fast and far. In some very low angle meadows around 1900 metres we felt and heard 5-6 signifcant whumpfs (likely the early December surface hoar). No cracking or other avalanche activity observed. It was snowing hard most of the day and there were some light variable winds.
