Gorgeous!

North Columbia

It was a gorgeous sunny day today. We went to check out a zone near the gorge and found up to 30 cm of recent snow at treeline that tapered rapidly with elevation. The snow had settled considerably from yesterday’s strong solar radiation but was not reacting as a slab in areas we traveled. The recent snow was sitting on a crust on all aspects. We only saw a few naturally triggered size 1 wet loose avalanches on steep sunny slopes. However, our alpine observations were limited. We didn’t have any avalanche concerns in the areas we traveled today.
