over all ride was ok. 45 cm base with two very thick surface crust with a cm of sugar sandwiched between covered by 30 cm plus fresh. best riding in sheltered treed areas where snow settled from winds with depths to 90-110cm powder. fresh snow was not bonding to rain crust.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Hard, Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Windy, Cloudy. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Steep slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was ok.
Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
