Strong Northernly winds at the top of Mt. Grey On average 100cm HS at 1900 - 2000m elevation. Whumping was heard on the ridge between grey and kirkup in densely treed areas. Our snow pit on the ridge at 1980m resulted in a planar release on the late November rain crust 30cm down CTM ~4. Convex rollovers in low angle terrain released slabs and propagated 2-3 meters.

Snow conditions were: Powder, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Cold, Stormy, Windy. We rode: Dense trees, Mellow slopes. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.

Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
