Attempted Robertson col today on foot but bailed at 2725m due to storm rolling in. Moraines has about 10cm but once on the glacier snow averaged 30cm. The lunch spot we dug out had 90cm ! Some crust and slab, but quite supportive and still mushy due to recent solar input and temps over last few days. Foot pen was usually between 10-20cm. Would’ve loved to have my skis on the way down but the approach is quite a slog still. Significant weather rolled in earlier than expected at 1:30pm from the col and strong winds and heavy snowfall, coupled with low viz had us high tailing outta there.
