Last night there was a wide spread avalanche cycle in the Shannon Basin. Below TL, plenty of size 1-1.5 wet slides. Above TL, plenty of size 1-2 storm slab avalanches. Conditions are super variable up there. 30 cm of Slush below TL. 5cm of semi-dry snow on top of 30cm wet slab. Above TL there was a mix of thick wind slabs or completely wind scoured crust which was bullet proof or breakable depending on aspect. Was +1 degree at the Habrich junction snow plot. We’ll need a good reset before there’s good skiing to be had in the basin.
