Sapphire Col

Brandon Parker, Monday 14th February, 2022 4:50PM

Surprisingly the rising quality continues to remain on the east aspect in the Asulkan valley. Toured up to Sapphire Col for lunch and skiied out the same way. As you get higher there is clearly more wind affect making for some bulletproof hard spots. With careful route finding the ski down was pretty great considering. No signs of instability noted. Old slab avalanches noticed in the mushroom people area and the trees to lookers left noted above the creekbed, suspect it went on the SH layer from last week. The forecasted snow didn’t materialize as forecasted, in the sun most of the day.
