<p>Skied through the pass by Big Blue on Saturday morning all the way to laughton glacier cabin. Major takeaway - old slides on all aspects. No signs of instability in conservative terrain.
About 10cm ski penetration in the valley bottom; followed sled tracks most of the way to the end of the valley.
Skinned up the a steep WNW slope to read the pass. Limited exposure to one skier at a time.
Typical snowpack (wind crust and facets) with a bit of powder at the surface. Skied down the east exposure of the pass with no signs of instability.
Continued down the valley using the creek. Several old (not sure the age) natural avalanches from steep slopes above (e.g. in the 3rd image on this report).
Where the creek turns into canyon we made for the south side of the creek and bushwacked along a N slope, eventually entering the adjoining valley at the location marked on the map noting again some older natural slide at the valley entrance.
Very wind affected surface in the valley. We skied out by the west side back down to the creek observing another fairly large natural avalanche near the valley bottom triggered from a slide above that stepped down a couple benches.
