Today at Hankin we had broken skies with moderate northwesterly winds in the alpine. There was a small amount of snow blowing around, but not much as there isn’t much available for transport. We didn’t see any new avalanches, but we did see some older loose wet avalanches from steep, alpine terrain. We found 2cm of new snow down to 900m. There is about 10cm of low density snow on shady aspects above 1500m. Ski quality is pretty good in these areas! On all slopes a melt-freeze crust exists below the new snow. The surface became moist throughout the day on slopes below 1200m.
