Shames Backcountry

Northwest Coastal

Skied SW facing alpine/treeline terrain at 1230pm in the Shames Backcountry. By hugging the south aspect of each feature I had some nice corn turns. Rest was chattery. Mod ridgeline wind coming up the Zymacord (east) keeping things cool. Sky was clear. No evidence of recent slab avalanches. Crust mostly supportive to skis however in places could punch through it. Foot pen was 15cm if punching through the crust. Loose frozen melt-freeze grains below the crust.
