2sday's gone with the wind

We chased the snow from this weekend's storm to the only place it seems to have landed, Mount Cain. The northwest winds have been doing their work up there. While the wind evidence is widespread, the wind slabs can only be found in specific areas and with the variability in their make up, we could only get them to be reactive in isolated features. We saw from 2 to 30cm deep wind pockets that varied from soft light snow to more slab like properties or layers of both. The solar energy did have an effect on the reactivity of the slabs despite a chilly -11 degrees. We watched the wind transport the snow throughout the day, however as the day went on there seemed to be much less snow left to move around.
