Dog Leg

v.huynh93, Thursday 21st November, 2024 8:00AM

Incident Report

Dog Leg slid higher up, we were a party of 4 skinning up through the trees just east of the chute and was caught in what looks to be a natural release of 3 avalanches ranging from size 1 to 2.5. Time of avalanches 12:48 pm - no wind throughout the day. 3 of us were partially buried up, but we all 3 went tumbling underneath the avalanche debris for a bit of time through some sparse trees. The avalanches slid to ground at 2300-2350m, we measured around 110-130 cm HS at 2200m. Avalanche debris filled all the gullies that are normally skied in the dog leg area. River is also flowing, you will definitely get wet crossing.
