Spent most of week in the Nadahini area - mostly around 4500 to 5500 feet on Nadahini and mineral mountain north facing lower slopes/ kusawak lower south facing slopes overlooking three guardsman. Sled CRS course April 9.
Temps -5 overnight and plus 5 during the day. Dribs and drabs of snow coming in on convective cells early in the week. Snowpack disappearing at highway level but still surprisingly good snow right from highway level to the north. Three guardsman too bony to ski. Wet facets to ground with upper snowpack turning to corn to about 5000 feet - supportive to skiers/sleds with occasional foot penetration surprises. Turning to powder at higher elevations. Sleds were able to remote trigger cornice avalanches on south/southwest facing slopes size 1.5 to 2.5. Fresh avalanche activity on north facing steep slopes in particular on convex features. Since i am posting this late i won't tick off the avalanche conditions but remote sled triggered cornice releases on April 8 and fresh natural avalanche activity north facing side of mineral mt. April 10.
