15-20cm HST on top of ~10cm firm crust below ~2,000m. On S and N aspects, between 2,350m and 2,200m, the crust was thin, breakable, and grabby, even with HST overlying. Some evidence of wind slab ~10cm thick) on ridge and in immediate lee, but no W/S avalanches were noted. Several dry loose out of steep rocky terrain (12-24hr old) generally Sz 1-1.5.
One whumpf while ascending the ridge in thin windswept area, otherwise no notable instabilities noted underfoot. Calm wind all day and definitely felt the warming on solar aspects by noon wherever the sun was able to poke through the clouds. Overall great day in the alpine on S and N aspects with just enough dust on the crust to make skiing fun again!
