Beautiful day on the Young's Traverse. Downflow wind effect noted while climbing up towards Lookout col on the moraines, but any new slabs were unreactive. Probed ~3m on the toe of the Illecillewaet. Ski pen 10-15cm up on the Neve. Cornices are very large on the E side of the ridge leading to Young's Peak. One recent cornice failure along this ridge ~50m wide in past 24-48 hrs, triggered a slab in the immediate lee, but otherwise just entrained loose snow. No other new avalanches observed. Excellent ski quality down the headwall and down the Pterodactyl with no signs of instability other than minimal loose dry from very steep slopes.
