120HS Lee slope SE 2400m -15 Celsius no wind high cloud CTM13 RP down 70cm in 4f facets on top of the nov 5 rain crust which is 10 cm thick here. The snow between nov 5 and dec 8 is a 45cm 1F layer here and is bringing those weak facets. The depth of this November snow layer varies significantly across aspects and elevations in this region. On the ski descent NW from this col the nov 5 crust is pretty much the surface. ie very thin snow for the first half of the descent. Skiing is best at TL and BTL polar aspects where the dec 8 interface isn’t a hard crust and the November winds didn’t have as much affect on the snowpack.
