we rode NW aspect, 2000m -1600m ish. Skiing was good, fast. Sluffing was apparent but slow and manageable. top ~10cm is light, on top of a dense upper snowpack. Ski pen >20cm.
we dug a test pit at 1950m as a nice skills refresh. NWaspect, 40 degree slope. ovc sky conditions with nil precip and calm winds. No discernable layers other than a MfCr around 110cm down. Multiple density changes in the top 100, generally right side up with one, couple cm thick 1F at 25cm. Multiple progressive collapse throughout the top 25, and 2x ctm 18 RP @25. these results did not concern us too much, we continued to ski treeline and below with no evidence of instability. MfCr very well bonded.
