Sun and light westerly winds in the morning led to pinwheeling and loose point avalanches from steep rocky terrain and trees on solar aspects. Entrainment up to size 1, only one recent size 1 slab observed in steep S aspect alpine gully likely triggered by loose slide. By end of day on strongest solar aspects at treeline a thin solar crust was present. Treeline and below treeline had good quality powder skiing on sheltered north quadrant aspects, ~20cm ski pen. Crust and facet interface ~50cm down - facets very apparent with poles and hand shears. No evidence of slab development on these slopes. Steep skinning was a little slippery from facet development. Westerly winds increased starting mid day moderate to strong with significant alpine wind transport observed. Small slab lenses building at treeline on easterly aspects.
