Windy and warming...

forecaster, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Powder from the past week has quickly changed to wet and heavy snow. Strong winds we’re blowing around lots of snow at treeline, as we were punching through fresh wind drifts. It was raining up to roughly 1300 m, and even above that the top few cm of snow was moist. We saw one slab avalanche on a north facing slope from the highway (it was raining on the slope), but otherwise didn’t have great visibility.
