Went up the treed ridge roadside for dog leg. We decided to dig a pit to see if we could see results. Pit was @1950m slope angle 27 degree. HS130 we had a CTE2 sudden collapse and a ECTP12 sudden plainer both failing 50cm down where there was the noticeable crust. Along the skin track we heard a few audible whumpfs. We skiied the mellower angle trees had a good run down otherwise. Could feel the odd settlement during the run but I don’t believe any of the areas were open enough or steep enough to gain momentum. All and all a good day out would have been pretty concerned if our objective would have been to get into steeper terrain.
