Snow peak not quite living up to its name

Had an adventure up Snow Peak today. Approach to sheltered rock band at 2600m fairly straight forward with thin coverage. Suncrust staring at 2400m. Last 200m to the summit much more spicy; in hindsight should have thrown on ski crampons as the wind hammered slopes made for difficult skinning. Bootpacked part of the way. Boot crampons and axe brought but not used. Probed along the ridge as it was heavily corniced. Probing sometimes over 2m.
Variable conditions on ride down through main south facing bowl
: breakable crust, powder, wind hammered garbage. Exit through trees quite slick due to low coverage and lots of skiier/hiker traffic in area lately.
No signs of recent avalanches or instability noted.
