Spray - KLakes

Headed up the French with the hope of connecting to the Robertson. Above TL found an average of 30cm of F -4F storm snow over older surfaces with minimal wind effect. Probed an average of >200cm on the glacier. Turned around at the base of the headwall due to more loading than expected, thick-thin problems and lots of solar input. The ridge off Mt. Maude provided nice low angle powder turns instead. Below 2100m the top 5cm became wet in the afternoon, making for slow travel. Lots of point releases within the HST from steep solar aspects, and a few deep persistent slabs to size 2 on the E aspect of Mt Burstall, looked to be a couple days old.

Snow conditions were: Deep powder, Powder, Wet. Weather conditions were: Sunny, Warm. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Convex slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.
