A group of 4 skied the north west side of avalanche peak near sunrise hut. The snow pack was thin and wind affected on the west face, so we skied the more protected and less steep north face. 2 and 10 minutes after skiing the slope, a size 2 avalanche was triggered on a slope above our tracks. It may have been the sun, but likely it was our ski tracks that cut below the slope. Thankfully no one was on the slope when it went, but it was a humbling reminder. the crown was about 20 to 30 meters across and 30 to 40cm deep. It slid on March 14 storm slab, and did not step down to the persistent week layer below.
