Small slab
Glacier

Skied Niccy's Notch and a few short lines around Balu Pass. Wind affect was apparent but snow was resistant to ski cuts and hand shear and did not appear to form a slab. For the last run of the day we skied a short couloir off the bottom of the cheops uptrack. We were aware this was a steeper slope than we had skied before and that it was in a lee, but decided to ride it due to the small size of the feature and previous lack of results. 1st skier triggered a size 0.5 slab halfway down, which did not propagate across the entire couloir. Skier was not caught and skied out. 2nd skier elected to approach the line with speed and triggered the rest of the slope but was out the bottom ahead of the snow. Avalanches were not of a size dangerous to skiers in unexposed terrain but notable due to the slab characteristic which had not been observed prior in the day.
