Upper alpine north run produced no results with ski cut. group of 4 rode large alpine line in complex terrain with multiple safe zones throughout. Final, lowest elevation pitch, which was also the steepest had slightly more wind effect leading into steeper terrain, and probably some preserved surface hoar in the more protected gully feature, which was loaded up. Rider rode from mini ridge feature dropping in and across gully feature triggering slab avalanche 30-40cms deep at the fattest. Took a small tumble then was able to get back on feet and ride out of moving slab avalanche and exit about halfway down. Avalanche only ran a total 50-100m before stopping. midslope. Fairly low consequence slope but obviously enough snow loaded up to be an issue.
Sunny in morning, overcast and colder time of avalanche. Cold day getting colder. Light to moderate patchy wind.
See comment for details. Was not able to gather specifics of slab depth or layers etc. Estimated from photos
