Pearce no good

Meshwell Boschmann, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

10 cm received overnight releasing easily as very soft slab over surface hoar where dense enough. Day started stormy but cleared up around noon. Winds were moderate gusting to strong from the WNW. Hasty pits at beginning of climb and at lower tree line on north facing features both produced similar results. CTE down 10 cm under soft slab over Feb 22 SH. CTM moderate RP down 25 cm. CTH hard down 40-45cm over temperature crust. The entire north face had seen widespread crossloading. Supported shoulders were windscoured down to the temperature crust on the immediate skiers left while immediate skiers right was corniced and windslabs. Natural activity to SZ 2.5 in the guts releasing as soft slabs on surface hoar and gouging deeper in the loose snow as it gained mass. The first gully had seen a SZ 3 that ran all the way to the creek. The debris was covered with 30 cm of new snow so it was quite a few days old. The ski out was a little challenging with the creek fully open most of the way.
