Tryst Lake Chutes

Skied 3 different North facing chutes above Tryst Lake. Riding quality was solid, sharks still lurking in chutes, lower half of runs consistently had great snow all the way down to the lake.
Dug pit on top of North aspect of Tryst Chutes. Probe indicated approx 150 cm to ground. Regular compression test finally failed after 29 shovel taps on storm layer 50 cms below surface.
Extended column test yielded no results after 30 shovel taps.
Tested what appeared to be storm loaded chute on 3rd run with ski cuts, north facing chutes appeared stable save for minor sluffing.
However, on the ski out, noticed several size 2.5ish slides on south facing slopes off Tent Ridge side, running east of Tryst Lake, which went long and large today (we heard a thud in morning but couldn’t see it). We noticed skin track in morning went through this valley (we elected to make our own sporty skin track through trees). Avy was large enough to wipe out several young (20ish yr) trees on uphill slope and slid all the way to bottom of valley on ski out. Tons of debris in valley on ski out. Glad we broke trail on our own skin track thru mature trees in the morning!

Avalanche Conditions
