Spring Daze

North Rockies

Today was our last day in the field. There is still good spring riding in the Piine Pass above 1400m for those who put in the effort go looking. Access in the area is quickly melting away with the highway now dry and bare. At treeline the surface was a breakable crust over 20 cm of softer snow. There was a bit of dry snow on the shady side of the upper ridge lines but it was being blown away by moderate northeast winds. We enjoyed some afternoon turns among the open trees after the sun had softened the crust enough to get an edge in. All the best to those still getting out. Stay safe and we'll see you next year!
