Approaching Cheops West Ridge

<p>After checking morning updates and discussing options with my partner at the Discovery Center, he insisted on taking a look at the north-facing slopes in Cheops. I argued that the strong S wind and +10cm overnight didn't make me feel like heading there.
And that's what I should have done: stick to my own decisions.
Instead of traveling via Balu Pass skin track, we were skinning below Cheops West Ridge. I use this route often as it helps me to understand the conditions of the slope and doesn't present significant terrain traps. Just below the ridge, beneath the rock, I triggered a 40m wide wind slab that was 30cm deep and ran 10m. No injuries.
