Toured Montana and then kokanee/montana ridge. With heavy wind effect and warming temperatures we chose conservative terrain. Sticking to mellow slopes with trees. We just missed seeing Montana slide on a south aspect. Would say 2.0.
Snow conditions were: Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Sunny. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow. Slab avalanches today or yesterday.
When touring up kokanee ridge just missed seeing a possible skier triggered slide in Montana. South of the old cat ski run tastes great.
