Kootenay Pass North of Muffin Top

Rode a NW aspect off Lightning Strike and a NE aspect on the ridge north of Muffin Top. No new signs of instability on NE to NW aspects or significant sluffing. One old windslab/cornice slide observed on a NE aspect 2000m. Significant pinwheels observed on S aspects especially near cliff bands. Strong warming trend and solar radiation throughout the day.
Snow conditions were: Heavy, Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Warm. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Steep slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Sunny slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
