Decker & DOA

April showers bring May powder. Skiied the spine, decker glacier, and DOA. Snow was relatively good, 10cm-15cm of snow & grouple on a variable crust underneath.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Powder, Wet. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Cold, Foggy, Stormy, Sunny, Warm. We rode: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes. We avoided: Sunny slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
Snowpack
10-15cm of storm snow on graupel. Snow was not consolidated but was readily sliding on graupel/crust interface.
Avalanche
We let go a small 0.5 slide while ski cutting the top of the spine/windlip. Slid on the leeward side of the windlip.
