Seven Steps

<p>Skied the 7 steps up to the Young’s head wall. Skiing was somewhat wind affected but decent turns were found in wind sifted areas. Made our snow pit at the top of our skin track at 2,625. December 23 storm crust evident 40cm down, a second crust evident 60cm down. Sugar snow below the second crust. Recent snowfall had a minor shear at ECT20. December storm crust failed at ECT23. Deeper crust failed at ECT28. Snow depths were highly variable with wind scoured areas having 0-5cm depth. Other areas were proved to a depth of 220cm.</p>
