Inversion Wednesday
Waterton
Waterton Visitor Safety , Wednesday 8th March, 2023 3:20PM
A cold morning beneath the inversion line until pushing into warmer temps and sun in the Alpine. 5-10 cm of fresh snow sits on a sun crust that formed from the previous days of clear skies. New surface hoar has formed above last nights inversion line ~2000m and up. Skiing an East aspect we could feel the new sun crust. It was breakable most of the way down to the lake, but it wasn't terrible skiing, just ok. Hazard Rating for today was Mod-Low-Low.
ECTP 25 down 50cm on Facets 1.0 mm above the Jan crust
