Leaving the parking lot it was -28 and warmed up to -8 in the back of the valley. Winds were stronger than forecasted coming from the SW with some snow transport at ridge tops. Surface hoar was observed in the majority of the area and highly variable in size. The cold weather has preserved the riding quality and in areas protected from the wind made for some great riding. HS varied from 130-160cm with a breakable crust down 35cm not very noticeable under the sleds but probing you could feel it.
