Took a bit of an unorthodox route up Mt. Cronin, ascending from the bowl below to get eyes on a few of the lines off the east ridge of Cronin. The couloirs are filled in for the most part but east facing slopes are bulletproof to base. Snow pack is pretty thin still (~110cm in a sheltered meadow @ 1800m) with wide spread wind effect observed throughout the basin. East aspects have been scowered and scorned where West aspects are looking phat in sheltered areas. South facing slopes (2200-2050m) have a 1-3cm solar crust. Skiing in the babine’s seems similar to a relationship with your mother-in-law — it’s okay, and you should be grateful it’s not worse.
