Tip of the hat to Tophat

Great day at Tophat. Visibility was marginal but windows were opened to allow views of the down track. Lots of fine, slightly cohesive powder on the down slope. Worry here is that any rise in temps or wind action ( winds were near non-existent on descent side) would turn this situation into slab land... temps sat near -5 for circuit once we reached the lake.
Travel up was fine, massive track to just below lake - slide slopes ( s. Aspect) before Hamilton lake were frozen In with little to no direct sun on them for the day.
Deeps turned to dust on crust around 1900m but good snow ( all things considered right to exit along Emerald River.
I believe we were lucky that conditions were as they were and a day on either side could have been sketchy.
