Burstall Pass

Kent Tanner Martin, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Deep trail breaking this morning into Burstall Pass with 25-35cm of storm snow. Later in the day it was certainly forming a soft slab at treeline with easy had sheers. Moderate winds with snow transport at treeline and above all day. No cracking or whumping and convex snow loaded roles at treeline and alpine tested did not release. We did ski some 30 degree open slopes at treeline and some steeper and deeper fantastic lines down the Christmas tree run off snow peak shoulder (before the avy path)...surprisingly most choose to ski / board the skin track out and not the blower powder off the supported / sheltered shoulder to exit into the meadow. Fantastic skiing and snowing lightly when departing at 3pm
