Blue Mountain

NL Field Team, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:33PM

New snow quantities, increased quickly North of Daniels Harbour. We headed to Blue Mountain, where we explored around the northern aspect. On N-NE aspects of Blue Mt. there was 50+cm of recent storm snow, at tree line and below. Above tree line has seen heavy wind effects. The lowlands showed a prominent raincrust South of Daniels Harbour. No New avalanches observed, but there were a handful of older, very destructive avalanches that crossed the road, and knocked down mature timber. We did not get to ski, but things seemed stable in the trees, and the snow was fantastic.
