<p>AST2 2nd day Obs Calm winds. Sunny conditions. No sign of natural activity. Felt one wumphf in a regroup area.Skied areas that appeared to have deeper snowpack. Avoided areas of low thin snowpack. Hasty Pit on north aspect (4600ft) (see photo) -Consolidated snow from surface to 35cm down. Well bonded surface hoar at 25cm down. -Facets from 35cm to ground surface, with rain crust at 75cm down. -CT20 sudden collapse. -Large temperature gradient. 2nd hasty pit on north aspect at 5000ft. -190cm snowpack -old wind slab and well bonded storm snow from surface to 70cm down -RB5. Failure at 70cm on a softer layer (old near surface facets?) </p>
