Haines Pass summit area

Seriously wind hammered at the summit. The day was windy, but there was very little snow left available for transport on North facing aspects and open areas. Snowpack is eroded down to an old crust (melt freeze?) as shown in picture. South facing aspects all appeared wind loaded. The few wind loaded features that we checked out were hard wind slabs. A few natural slides were also observed along the highway on North-ish facing gullies and other small features. Our group had set out on sleds in the hope of finding decent snow to ski in sheltered areas East of the highway, but unfortunately we had to cut the day short. Therefore I can't confirm if there's anything good left out there if you venture further, but it doesn't look good. Pray for snow.
