Skied some north facing, large couloir. Snow is awesome up high on north facing slopes. Definetely not champagne but still low density in the top 10-15 cm. Probe many times on the way up to find different layer/slab in the snowpack under us. an average of 2.5 m on the slope. Sun poked out at around 3:45pm was +\- zero 1 hour after that. Good day on skis. Had the place to ourselves.
Snow conditions were: Heavy, Deep powder, Powder. Weather conditions were: Warm, Cloudy, Sunny. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Steep slopes. We avoided: Sunny slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow. Slab avalanches today or yesterday.
Got in the parking lot in a white out. Then clearing up progressively. Warm in the sun at the lake at 1900 - 2050 near zero or in the plus for sure.
