10 mile wind affected
We backes away from a bigger north facing objective bc of wind affect and hand shear test failing on isolation, then moved to a bigger south facing slope and found more instability. Compression test consistent ctm1. Shovel shear on isolation. Down 30cm on a sun crust or wind layer. No result on propagation test but we moved to safer terrain and produced a skier accidental on a steep roll, big size one that ran 100m or more. Great turns in the trees!!
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Heavy, Hard, Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Steep slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
