Locked up tight at Fraser

info , Saturday 6th February, 2021 8:15PM

Much like recent reports from the Yukon Field team and Eirik, the snowpack was tight around Bryant Lake and Summit Creek. We did observe 2 small size 1 slabs on a steep east slope on the west side of Crater Lake but suspect they were from Thursday. Still lots of good sledding to be had in low-lying sheltered spots.

Snow conditions were: Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Sunny. We rode: Mellow slopes, Sunny slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.

Cool day but the sun is finally doing its job, and it was a pretty pleasant day. High temp in the shade was -20 at Summit Creek.

Slides were on the west side of the Chilkoot Trail, observed from the notch. Looked similar to those posted by Bill Glude last week.
