Gorge sled access ski report. CAUTION!

brad, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

If you are thinking of going to the Gorge expect to see Sz 1-2’s on steep terrain. I would show extra caution even in places like 17-18km where some of the steeper lines are usual pretty bomber. Check out the pics from 15km skin track up to the bowls (due south from the ATES rating sign at parking area) In 10 years of ski here I’ve never seen this slide. The rock in the far left of the pic is the cliff the skin track goes below. 1500m ele. The other pic is showing meter deep cracks at the parking lot going below the road. Saw lots of recent activity all the way up to lunch bench at 1900m so we turned around and went home. Today was not the day for the big deep line. Had a lot of fun skiing deep mellow terrain. Get out and see it! Learn from a mentor this week.
